What the Canton Fair is
The Canton Fair (China Import and Export Fair) is held in Guangzhou twice a year, in spring and autumn. Thousands of manufacturers show their products across many halls, from building and decorative materials to hardware, homewares and much more.
Why I go in person
- See real quality. Photos online don’t show finish, weight or how well something is made.
- Meet the people. Talking to the factory team face to face builds a relationship that helps with price, MOQ and problem-solving later.
- Compare lots of suppliers in one place. In a few days I can see what would take weeks of back-and-forth online.
I attended the 139th Canton Fair in April 2026. I import for my own business, so I know what to look for.
How I can source for you
Send me your product list before I fly and I’ll look for suitable factories while I’m there. Include:
- what the product is (photos or links help)
- key specs: size, material, colour, any certifications
- roughly how many you want to order
- your target price, if you have one
- where it’s going: which part of NZ, or which Pacific Island
After the fair, I’ll come back to you with what I found. If you want to go ahead, we move on to samples, pricing, landed cost and shipping.
